The fourth-generation Uconnect, Fiat Chrysler’s infotainment system, will debut in select 2017 FCA vehicles with 4G LTE connectivity. FCA will be the first automaker to introduce 4G capability since General Motors made it standard across its entire lineup in 2015.
Uconnect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi will be available in the 2017 Dodge Charger, the 2017 Challenger, and the 2017 Chrysler 300. The new generation of Uconnect, Uconnect 8.4 and 8.4 NAV, will also have faster maps as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The new Uconnect Advantage+ plan will cost $14.99 a month or $149.99 for a year of 4G LTE, whereas currently to use a hotspot through Uconnect it costs $9.99 a day, $19.99 a week, or $49.99 a month using a 3G network.
Upgrading to a faster and more affordable plan means FCA drivers will have better access to apps and more fully appreciate the convenience of Uconnect and other FCA technology. The new Uconnect will come with hands-free calling and texting, entertainment and audio features including satellite radio and Bluetooth streaming, and advanced navigation options.
A free six-month trial of Uconnect Access Advantage is available with select new vehicle purchases or leases and includes a monthly vehicle health report, a smartphone app, and 9-1-1 call and Assist Buttons.
