Fourth of July Safety Tips Keep You Safe and Smart All Year Long

Fourth of July Safety

With the Fourth of July recently fading into our rearview mirror once again, here at Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram we trust that everyone had a safe and spectacular time celebrating our country’s independence. However, we know that every year, all across the country, there are countless police reports, fire-related emergency calls, hospital visits, and other mayhem all as a result of people celebrating in an unsafe way. We’d like to keep you safe this year and every year, so pay attention to these tips for great Fourth of July safety. They’ll keep you safe the rest of the year as well.

First of all, only light off fireworks in an area where it is legal to do so. Many people attempt to smuggle fireworks illegally into city limits or other areas where they are not allowed and shoot them off there anyhow. Fireworks aren’t illegal in certain places just to inconvenience you—there are legitimate safety and community concerns in play. Lighting fireworks off in undesignated areas can scare and injure people, cause fire damage, and destroy property.

Also, make sure to keep a safe distance from any firework, especially once the wick has been lit. Every year, we read tragic stories of people who lost body parts, suffered severe burns, or even died as a result of improper firework handling. Remember that fireworks are very fun, but always respect the power that they have. Come see us at Cronic Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram today to learn more.
